ELRS In General in Delaware County, PA |
|
We
approached the Delaware County Bar Association with a plan to implement our new
ELRS as an extension of the then existing Lawyer Referral Service in use in Delaware
County. We also suggested the
implementation of future Internet Applications.
We
continue to believe that large, national, third-party lawyer referral services
are unable to sufficiently address the specific wants and needs of local lawyers
and members of the community. We
believe that the best resource for lawyer referral and CLE Seminars is your
local bar association. Thus, upon
collaborating with the Delaware County Bar Association, this site was designed
for use in Delaware County by Delaware County lawyers, residents, and business
persons.
We
expect to launch similar sites, designed to address the wants and needs of
neighboring communities, upon collaboration with other bar associations.
We will connect these sites to this site and each other with our main
site, barristersclub.com.
All members of the Delaware County Bar Association accessible via
this ELRS are dedicated to excellence in the practice of law, and have embraced
Barristers Club technology in order to provide you extraordinary service. They
are licensed and insured professionals, and have agreed to respond to your feedback.

ELRS Specifics |
|
The following should answer any questions you may have about the ELRS.
When you click on the Electronic Lawyer Referral Service button in the menu selection at the
top, you will be taken to a page on a secured server and communication with you will from
that point be encrypted until you leave the secured server that handles ELRS.
Regardless, it is suggested that you do not reveal information over the internet that you want
to keep confidential. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions about the ELRS or the
lawyer to whom you eventually will be referred, please
contact us.
First, determine whether your question is "General" or "Specific".
General Questions
General
Questions DO NOT concern real persons, places or events. Our members believe in making the
law accessible to all. To that end, they will answer your "General Questions" free of
charge. If you want to know where to find the statutes, rules, or regulations governing your
conduct, or if you want to know how or where to file a legal document, select the "General Question"
radio button when the General/Specific choice is given you.
Specific Questions
Specific Questions DO concern real persons,
places, or events. A lawyer MUST NOT
learn facts about real persons, places, or events until the lawyer has determined that consulting with
you does not create a conflict of interest. Consulting with you about real
persons, places, or events prior to checking for a conflict of interest may preclude the lawyer from
representing you and/or other individuals. Before consulting with you, the lawyer to whom you will be
referred must learn the identities of the parties and potential witnesses in order to check for a
conflict of interest. Our lawyers will only consult with you, after determining that the consultation
will not create a conflict of interest. If you want to consult about specific persons, places, or events,
select the "Specific Question" radio button when the General/Specific choice is given you.
Next, you will be given the opportunity to limit the lawyer selection process, if you so desire, by indicating
a particular area of the law and/or geographic location and at the same time you will be required to provide your
own contact information. Your contact information and the name of the
selected lawyer will be e-mailed to the Barristers Club for quality assurance
purposes.
Finally, you will be given the opportunity to present either your "general question" or "specific
data", as determined earlier, for the lawyer. The data you then provide will be forwarded by
encrypted e-mail, unseen by the Barristers Club, to the lawyer.
