NARRATIVE

Joseph W. Chupein, Jr. is a shareholder in the firm of Gallagher, Schoenfeld, Surkin, Chupein & DeMis, P.C. He joined the firm in 1986, following his service with the Delaware County Public Defender’s Office. Mr. Chupein currently serves on the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Judicial Evaluation Commission. He is a member of the Delaware County Trial Lawyers Association, the G. Guy deFuria American Inns of Court, the Board of Directors of Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania, the E. Wallace Chadwick Memorial Fund Committee and the Paralegal Studies Advisory Committee of Delaware County Community College.

Mr. Chupein’s primary areas of practice include labor relations, personal injury, worker's compensation and commercial litigation. He serves as Solicitor for the Delaware County Fraternal Order of Police and numerous police bargaining associations in Chester and Montgomery Counties. He provides local counsel for both the Pennsylvania State Fraternal Order of Police and the Pennsylvania State Education Association. He has been appointed by the Media Business Authority as its Solicitor. He is pro bono counsel to the Delaware County Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation and the St. Ignatius Nursing Home.

Mr. Chupein received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1979 from Temple University and a Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers University Law School in 1982.
